How is Hermes different from OpenClaw?

OpenClaw runs the tasks you configure. Hermes accumulates skills from the work it does, so it improves at your particular workload over time. Both are private, single-tenant instances.

How do I update it?

From the dashboard. Updates are platform-managed — do not run an update inside the container, because the platform is the thing that tracks which version you are on.

Do I need my own API key?

No. You can add an LLM API key of your own, or use Green Commerce AI with credits from your balance, through third-party AI services. The instance deploys either way, but cannot do model work until one of the two is set.

Are backups included?

No. App backups are not part of the plan, and the backups that come with hosting do not cover agents. A paid backup add-on is on the way.

It says Beta. What does that mean here?

The product is live and billed, but still changing. Features and pricing may move before general availability, and you will hear about it from us first.
